Nature
Walk at Mary Immaculate Center - February 27, 2010.
The
Bertsch-Hokendauqua-Catasauqua Watershed Association, in cooperation with
the Mary Immaculate Center, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and the Lehigh
Township Historical Society invite the public to enjoy a Winter Walk through
the beautifully preserved grounds of the Mary Immaculate Center, located
between Cherryville and Indian Trail Roads in Lehigh and Allen Townships.
Program participants will meet at the Indian Trail Park parking lot at the
corners of Indian Trail Road & Route 248 at 11:45am. We will leave the
parking lot promptly at 12 noon for a modest 2 hour walk at a comfortable
pace to appreciate the beauty of nature in winter. Interpretive
naturalists will be in attendance to enhance understanding of all the
wonderful natural and cultural resources present on this extraordinary
property (one of the largest contiguous forested tracts in the Lehigh
Valley). Expect to learn about identifying trees (without foliage), animal
tracks, and learn the history of the area & grounds. We will make sure you
and
your family have a great time and maybe even learn something new. For
